American Companies Aid in Torture of Chinese Dissidents - just to make a buck

"Yahoo Sued over Data on Chinese Dissidents"


Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, and others are complicit in the arrest, torture, and unjustified detention of much more than just this one person.

By opening up local branches in China, these companies are directly aiding and abetting a brutal, tyrannical regime - all to make a buck.

Far from the original promise of the Internet, to be a platform for the free spread of ideas, these companies have helped dictatorships mold special "Edited" versions of the Internet for their dictator friends' propaganda machines.


By making special versions of their services that comply with the repressive laws of China and other dictatorships, they are directly helping the dictators lie to their own populations, directly helping them keep from their people the truth about freedom and free expression.

Were these companies aiding and abetting American mobsters in the same way they help out the Chinese government, the CEOs would all be up on criminal charges. But so long as the torture and repression is going on in some other country, every one of them just looks the other way.

Google's motto is supposedly "Do no evil." But apparently, their philosophy falls by the wayside when there is a buck to be made.

But if you recalculate this, and assumed that black men murdered at the same rate as everyone else, the overall rate would drop to 1.9 out of 100,000 population. The one thing that could help.

Megan, you overlooked one obvious thing that could help.  More regular, sane, well-adjusted people who are well trained in the use of firearms should be allowed to carry them concealed, in public. The reason the shooters pick malls, schools, restaurants and the like is that they know noone in any of these places will offer them any resistance. Because we have in our "wisdom" banned guns from these places - even by non-crazies. So when crazy shows up to a school there is *no way to stop it*. The meme is "Noone has ever committed a mass murder at a gun show." But it's truth. These shooters are, fundamentally, cowards. They want easy victims, and as you say, a sense of power. So they're going to go to places where we have banned guns and know they will get to exercise that power without resistance. Places that might resist won't give them the sense of power. Obama lied to us about a "new era in race relations"

One should not be surprised, that President Obama has been shown to be a liar. This is because Democrats cannot be elected President in this country without lying. Polls and surveys show that the country is consistently conservative, right-of-center, what have you. The majority of Americans do not want government run health care or any other form of liberal nanny-state. Bill Clinton campaigned as a "New Democrat", and was elected overwhelmingly by voters who wanted to punish George Bush Sr for his own lie - raising taxes after promising not to.
